‘New Moon’ Cast Reveals Their Favorite Scenes

“I liked when Jacob transforms into the werewolf,” Peter Facinelli revealed to MTV News. “When I was reading the book — I mean, your imagination goes so far, and I was like, ‘I can’t wait to see that in the film,’ and it didn’t disappoint.”

Fellow Cullen Ashley Greene flew her Team Jacob flag by highlighting the wolf fights. “I think that I like the wolf fight. You never know how those are going to turn out with the CGI. I think it turned out very well,” she said, adding that evil vamps Jane and Aro are also cool.

“I was obviously there filming it and kind of saw the way Michael Sheen commanded the room, and he’s so fantastic to watch and be across from,” she added. “So I wanted to see how they came across on film, and I thought that it was a very cool scene.”

Top 10 Highlights of the 'New Moon' Premiere

A new article from Fearnet showing the highlights of the New Moon Red Carpet premiere!
New Moon

Bella came dressed in Oscar de la Renta. Edward Cullen wore Gucci. Even young Jacob Black looked sharp in Calvin Klein. The entire Twilight universe sparkled in full force for Monday’s premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon -- well, with the exception of one flame-haired vampiress -- for a red carpet celebration that proved that this Twilight thing is only going to get bigger with each new installment.

In case you weren’t one of the thousands of screaming fans camping out for hours on the streets of Los Angeles for a glimpse of the New Moon cast, here’s a rundown of what you missed: celebrities, vampires, werewolves, rock stars, a few thousand-plus of the most devoted Twilighters and Twi-hards in the world, and the ever-present, ear-piercing sounds of unadulterated fan adoration. Start gearing up for next summer’s Eclipse!

New Moon

Last year’s Twilight premiere was insane, but New Moon was even bigger.

Last year’s Twilight premiere brought an estimated thousand fans to the streets of Westwood, CA, for a mass love fest that showed the rest of the world that this Twilight thing was a bona fide phenomenon in the making. This year, the cat was out of the bag and the fever pitch multiplied even further. Fans arrived as early as Thursday to camp out for five days to nab a spot at the front of the line, just for a chance to see New Moon’s stars up close and personal. They didn’t even get to see the movie! Now that’s dedication.

Think teenage fans are the craziest? Think again.

Kids skipped school. Adults called in sick. Some drove in from Oregon and flew from New York and Canada just for the three-hour event. There were more fans, more paparazzi, more desperation was in the air, and more pitiable security guards attempting to rein it all in. There was pushing, shoving, yelling, threata of sabotage; it was every Twi-hard for herself. One little girl told us that a grown women pulled her hair to get her out of the way, and that’s just wrong. And yet, not all that shocking.

Stephenie Meyer made a rare public appearance, but lost points for fashion.

After writing her Twilight novel series, author Stephenie Meyer retreated into the safety of her bubble of privacy to take time off from making public appearances and doing interviews. So it was nice for fans to see her hit Oprah’s couch last week and walk the red carpet at the New Moon premiere, where she met fans and spent time talking with a number of fan sites.

Unfortunately, at an event so saturated with meticulously styled designer gowns, where even 15-year-old Dakota Fanning wore Valentino, Meyer’s old timey updo and Victorian-style dress did not fly with the fashionista set.

Anya Marina on the red carpet: A delight or a disaster?

Soundtrack artist Anya Marina co-hosted the live MySpace red carpet stream to mixed reactions – some fans dubbed her "Annoying Anya," which is not generally what you want to go for when making your talking head debut. Her song, Satellite Heart, appears on the chart-topping soundtrack to New Moon, and it’s pretty good; unfortunately, Marina took every opportunity to tell exactly that to the stars she was interviewing throughout the night. Watch for yourself and decide.

Coolest celebrity of the night: Joan Jett

The New Moon cast brought plenty of their famous friends along for the big night, including Rob Pattinson’s Remember Me co-star Emilie de Ravin, the cast of Fox’s Glee, Emma Roberts, Brett Ratner, Kevin Smith, Grey’s Anatomy’s Justin Chambers and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and So You Think You Can Dance hostess Cat Deeley, who came on the arm of Eclipse actor Jack Huston. Basically, everyone in Hollywood who’d been pestered by a girlfriend or a child to get into the premiere. But all bowed down to one star’s black biker boots: Joan Jett, the rock star and role model for Kristen Stewart’s next film, The Runaways.

Nicest celebrity of the night: Kellan Lutz

Twilight’s Emmett pulled the best move of the night when, after signing autographs, he pulled two fans wearing 'Nutz for Lutz'shirts out of the crowd and escorted them into the premiere screening as his impromptu guests.

Random celebrity of the night: 50 Cent

Red carpets draw a lot of random stars, but who would have guessed that Fiddy himself would show up to support New Moon? Coincidentally, he just released a new album, but we’re sure that had nothing to do with it.

Rob and Kristen and their red carpet distance.

The rumored off-screen couple arrived separately at the end of the red carpet, just hours before MTV aired a special program investigating their real-life romance. Pattinson strolled through first before Taylor Lautner and Stewart pulled up the rear to do a quick sweep with the press and fans, and the trio posed for photos – just not all together. It seems Robsten was avoiding the red carpet 'couple' poses that would inevitably be picked apart by curious fans, although they were snapped together, along with Lautner, at the after party.

Rachelle Lefevre was “too emotional” to attend the premiere.

The only no-show of the night was actress Rachelle Lefevre, who lost the role of the vampire Victoria to Bryce Dallas Howard after playing her in the first two Twilight films. With her beloved dog in the hospital, Lefevre Tweeted her explanation to fans during the premiere: “'2 fans at the premiere: w/ Honey in hospital & being fired from Eclipse tonight was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it. So sorry.'

The after party had real live wolves. That’s right, wolves.

The premiere’s well-heeled crowd headed to the after party at the Hammer Museum, where real, live wolves had been brought in (and kept in cages) to enhance the New Moon vibe. Wonder how PETA spokesmodel Christian Serratos felt about that? Or New Moon’s Wolf Pack, who only transform into wolves with the magic of CGI?

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner Sparkle At 'New Moon' Red Carpet Premiere

If there's one place vampires, werewolves and humans can co-exist peacefully, it's surely the red carpet. Love triangles, team alliances and centuries-old pacts were put aside last night to celebrate the long-awaited premiere of "New Moon" at LA's Westwood village theater. Though fans lined up for hours to get a glimpse of their favorite "Twilight" stars, we've got a fashion rundown you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home—sans earplugs.

A lot has changed for the Saga's stars since last year's premiere, including their wardrobe. Kristen Stewart eschewed her mini-dress of yore, opting instead for a floor-grazing, gray-stitched gown by Oscar De La Renta. But in signature Kristen-fashion she funked it up by adding a few bangles, smokey eyes and a messy, half up-do. Kristen's onscreen love Robert Pattinson looked every inch the movie star in a black Gucci suit, with a soft yet still-slightly tousled haircut and his token stubble.

But let's not forget the third leg (or should we say tail?) of this love triangle, Taylor Lautner, who looked way more mature than his tender 17 years (remember ladies: 17!) in a blue Calvin Klein suit and sparkly skinny tie. We're having a hard time deciding whether we like him better this way or in his signature leather jacket ensemble we've come to love.

The sisters Cullen were also fashion forces to be reckoned with, with Ashley Greene making her fashionista character Alice proud in a long, firey red Prabal Gurung gown (which, according to the MTV staffers on hand, "required an extra person to help her walk the carpet"). Though costar Nikki Reed opted for less fabric she looked just as mesmerizing in a baby blue Burberry mini dress cinched at the waist by a bold black belt that played nicely off of her Christian Louboutin heels.

Fellow coven members Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone kept it simple in black, with Jackson opting for a classy tuxedo jacket while Kellan went more casual in Armani with an open- collared button-down sans tie. Patriarchs Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli also cut a fine form with Elizabeth slinking onto the carpet in a white, curve-hugging Herve Leger dress and Peter punching up his basic black with a purple striped button-down.

In one of the more questionable showings of the night, Anna Kendrick seemed to channel a bit of Blanche Devereaux in a black, one- shouldered sequined dress that can only be described as the "Golden Girls" meets Liza Minnelli. Thankfully, real-life homecoming princess Dakota Fanning
redeemed the little black dress, looking seriously stunning in her Valentino lace frock.

Fresh off of Oprah's couch, authoress Stephenie Meyer made her presence known, outshining her gray Carolina Herrera with a pair of ruby red puckers. Perhaps she was gifted with a vampire's good- luck kiss before the big event? Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg was a bronze beauty in her rouched gown, while unexpected Twihard Joan Jett made an appearance to support Kristen, who plays the iconic rocker in the upcoming "Runaways" biopic. And what else would a musical legend wear to the premiere of a vampire romance? A black suit, of course.

'New Moon' Wolves 'Bring A Warmth' To Film

"Twilight" mastermind Stephenie Meyer describes Rosalie Hale as the most beautiful woman in the world — a tall, statuesque vampire with long, wavy, blond hair and eyes resembling violets. Onscreen, 21-year-old beauty Nikki Reed has lived up to that impossible description, endearing herself to fans even as she further antagonizes their beloved Bella Swan.

Rounding out a week of Cullen family interviews that has included Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser and Kellan Lutz, we caught up with the refreshingly frank actress to talk about the joys of a half-naked Taylor Lautner, rainbow analysis and why she'll never, ever own a Rob Pattinson doll.

MTV: What's the biggest difference, in your personal opinion, between the three "Twilight" books currently being filmed as the "Saga"?

Nikki Reed: The biggest difference? Well, I know the similarities — it's an ongoing love story. I guess the action increases and the excitement and visual stimulation. But I think "New Moon" really revolves around this intense love triangle, and with "Eclipse," it's more heightened.

MTV: What's your favorite scene in "New Moon"?

Reed: Anything that Taylor Lautner is in. Seriously, the kid is — he's not a kid, he's a young man — but he's incredible. And I'm not saying that because he takes his shirt off in every scene. [Laughs.] Seriously, you forget that he's half-naked in every scene, because he is so incredible. He makes this film amazing.

MTV: Tell us about your favorite new character to join the franchise, who wasn't in the original film.

Reed: All of the wolves. They bring a very obvious warmth. To see people actually interacting and wrestling and touching each other and rolling around in the mud and being a bunch of boys? That was a nice addition. Because the vampires are all very ... cold. It sounds super cliché, but there was a lot of interaction, a lot of human interaction [in "New Moon"]. It was nice.

MTV: You guys have known each other for so long. What do you discuss between takes?

Reed: Um, I suppose all kinds of things. We usually talk about rainbows. [Laughs.] That and how tired we are. That seems to be a very common topic: how exhausted we are.

MTV: As the "Saga" has continued filming, do you find yourself becoming more or less like Rosalie?

Reed: I guess the older I get, the more understanding and forgiving I've become. I'm learning how to see people as people and forgive them for their mistakes — and I guess that is unfolding in Rosalie's life as well.

MTV: What do you think is the secret to the enormous success of the "Twilight" series?

Reed: It's a universal love story. The obvious answer is the books, if you're asking why the films are successful. But if you're asking what people are drawn to, I think it's ideas, situations [and] circumstances that are just out of reach, just out of the realm of possibility. I mean, it's not realistic, but it's this whole idea about living forever. People are fascinated by vampires, because it's the one thing we can't [attain]; it's unachievable. Also, the love these two characters have for each other is relatively unhealthy and unrealistic as well. People are fascinated with situations like that.

MTV: There is so much "Twilight" swag out there now. Do you own any?

Reed: "Twilight" memorabilia? No. [Laughs.] I don't have an Edward doll.

Q&A with Twilight's Justin Chon

JustinChon.jpg
J-14 caught up with Justin Chon who plays Eric Yorkie in The Twilight Saga movies -- and he spilled about awkward moments with Kristen Stewart, being stalked by paparazzi, and the musical cast of Twilight!

J-14: In Twilight, did you draw from your own high school experience to flirt with Bella Swan in the cafeteria?
Justin Chon: Of course. As an actor you're always trying to draw from real stuff to make it real, but I would say in acting terms, you use like substitutions and you think back to the moment. I just tried to make him as awkward as possible and just overly excited about everything.

J-14: What was it like flirting with Kristen Stewart?
Justin: Her character is just really awkward. So you put two really awkward people together and it's just a really funny thing to see them try and have a fluid conversation.

J-14: What was your reaction to all of the paparazzi at the airport when you landed in Vancouver?
Justin: The paparazzi were a total surprise. I think there's a picture of me with my mouth open. It's really pretty funny because I just had no idea what was going on. And I asked Anna [Kendrick], "Wait are they taking pictures of us?" We just had no idea and then we realized they were taking pictures of us and we were just like, "Whoa!"

J-14: You're a musician -- and so are Rob Pattinson, Jackson Rathbone, and Nikki Reed... what was it like working with such a musical cast?
Justin: It's kind of weird because everyone is like, "Oh yeah! I play guitar!" And then for me, I just didn't even tell anybody. I was just like, "Yeah, I guess everyone plays the guitar so maybe I shouldn't say anything because it doesn't make me special."
